About the Artist
Rebecca Anne Brady is an established painter and fibre artist based in Picnic Point, New South Wales. Her bespoke style is shaped by the narrative of her life and family adventures, deeply connected to her relationship with her children.
Rebecca’s work is detailed and vibrant, with compositions often described as a kaleidoscope of colour and decorative markings that invite the viewer on an expressive journey. Rich layers within her tufted tapestries and mixed media paintings are intricately collaged, revealing subtle motifs and a dynamic interplay of texture, pattern, and colour.
Rebecca’s first fabric collection for Rathenart Designs was launched in the Summer of 2011 at Las Vegas Fashion Week. Since then, she has continued to create and exhibit award-winning work both nationally and internationally, including at Penrith Regional Gallery, Casula Powerhouse, Palazzo Velli Gallery in Rome, and Gallery 11:11 North Epping.
Her current practice centres on storytelling through pattern, fabric, and textile design, guided by an imaginative and evolving visual language.

Artist's Statement
My work is a personal and emotive exploration of storytelling, shaped through pattern, fabric, and an evolving visual language. It draws from shared family experiences, where I rediscover ways of seeing through a sense of curiosity, play, and imagination. These moments inform a practice that embraces intuition and the freedom of constructing meaning through material.
Each artwork becomes a layered reflection of memory and invention. My compositions are often described as kaleidoscopic, built through vibrant colour, repetition, and decorative markings that guide the viewer through an expressive, almost rhythmic journey. Pattern acts as both structure and narrative, while fabric and fibre introduce a tactile dimension that speaks to touch, process, and time.
Working across tufted textiles and mixed media, I construct surfaces that are collaged and reimagined. Threads, painted marks, and assembled forms interact to create a dynamic visual language, one that balances control with spontaneity, and precision with play. Motifs surface within the layered compositions, offering glimpses of narrative and meaning.
This is my little creative world of wonder and imagination.
